University of California Endorses Firefox (sort of)

As most of you should know, I am currently engaged in the disastrous process of applying to college. I dropped in for a quick conversation with my ever-so-capable college counselor extraordinaire, who insisted on showing me an email he received from the University of California system. The email announced that UC admissions applications were due soon, and the second line read (slightly paraphrased from memory):

"Having trouble applying online? Use the Mozilla Firefox browser. Download it for free at http://www.mozilla.com."

My counselor was impressed. After all, he'd never even heard of Mozilla and Firefox until I came along. I guess we can add the University of California to our endorsers list.

Coming soon: all sorts of new Litmus goodies

They actually used the .com address? I'm impressed at how quickly the word has gotten out if that's true.

Yup, they really did use the .com address. I'm amazed how with it they seem to be.

Zach, I made a post about "Universities Advocating Mozilla Online" at Blogzilla a while back:

Weird since I remember going to the site where you apply and having them tell me that I should only use Netscape or IE otherwise the world would explode. I ignored them and rightfully so because their site sucks enough without me having to use IE and evil pop ups and yea.

Yeap, the Firefox product is great! Secure, comfortable and fast. There is nothing amazing that it spreads all over the world.
