I never let school get in the way of my education -- Mark Twain
Marcia emailed out a thank you note, thanking me for my work this summer as an intern at the Mozilla Foundation. It's hard to believe that my internship is over; it feels as if the odyssey has just begun. Thank you to everyone, Asa, Marcia, Jay, Coop, Tracy, Rafael, Choffman, Cbeard, Mitchell, Chase, Myk, Bkap, Polvi, Jesse, and everyone else I'm forgetting, for an amazing summer. Between finally building and deploying Litmus, having unfettered access to the snack temple, and coming in each morning to hear a new rant of the day from Asa (that would make a great podcast, "Asa's Rant of the Day), it's been a blast.
I don't plan to go away by any means. Unfortunately, state law, the wishes of my parents, and society's love for framed embossed sheets of paper with fancy looking writing conspire to take up much of my day-to-day time, especially between now and January. I hope to contribute as much as possible in the coming months, especially through continued development and management of the Litmus project. And of course, there's always next summer...
So thanks to all for the fish (or in my case, the white yogurt covered pretzels and bottles of Pellegrino). It has been a pleasure working with everyone for the summer, and here's to more to come.

Update: After getting into a long, protracted fight with the school registrar, this whole finishing school thing is starting to sound a lot less fun. Who knows. Maybe she'll get fed up with me and take me out of all my classes. ;-)
Posted by zach at August 16, 2005 4:28 PMHeh, I can empathise! I'm starting the final year of university in the UK this October and feel exactly the same way! Still, the college life isn't all that bad ... there'll be plenty of time for coding afterwards.

I am from Taiwan.
School is a strange place where teachers get to learn from students and kids try not to die of boredom. Once in a while you get an amazing teacher that challenges you to become better. The other teachers are baby sitters waiting to get their pay checks.
