Did the LinuxWorld thing on Wednesday. Saw Craig Newmark of Craigslist fame again (Polvi thanked him for finding him an appartment, Craig just looked like he'd heard that one a thousand times), and had a nice long chat with Rob Malda, AKA CmdrTaco of /. fame. All and all, the show was pretty unimpressive, incredibly corporate. Shaver's keynote was awesome though; he's working on getting video posted.
I spent a fair portion of the day at the Mozilla booth with Jay, Polvi, and Rafael. We got the usual set of questions, sold a ton of gear, and I even did some coding. One amusing anecdote:
On Tuesday, the first day of the show, Asa and Rafael took advantage of the convention center's windows to put up a couple of Firefox posters. They were visible from the street in San Francisco, and were generally looking awesome. Tuesday afternoon, a suit identified by badge only as show management came over and took a good, long look at the posters. "This isn't a good sign..." I thought to myself. Sure enough, he came back about 10 minutes later and proceeded to rip them down. He never even bothered to say anything to us either, just ripped them off the wall and threw them out. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to grab a phonecam snap; just think of the Slashdot story: "IDG/LinuxWorld Destroys Firefox Display, Hates Open Source." I was going to put up a couple of new posters, but after my previous experience of being banned from LinuxWorld, I decided to pass.
