Whether you like Netscape or not, they've been pretty good about releasing source code under the MPL. (Back in the day, they pretty much kicked off this whole open-source-for-the-masses party.) For Netscape 7, they had the source out within a couple days of the release.
I hope they do the same this time. Specifically, I hope I can see how they were able to embed IE into a XUL interface. I may or may not use NN8 (probably not), but that's something I think would be interesting to see.
At least, I hope they're still using a XUL interface.

Posted by: Kroc Camen at May 19, 2005 8:07 AMInteresting, do you know where the Netscape 7 sources can be found ?
(From Alex: Surprisingly, a search on Google didn't turn it up. But I remember specifically an announcement on the old mozilla.org homepage that AOL was complying with the MPL in releasing the Netscape 7 source.)
Posted by: Michel at May 19, 2005 8:11 AMI don't think Netscape ever released the source for the Netscape proprietry stuff (e.g AIM, Netscape mail support, etc) but there was always a release of mozilla that corresponded to the open source aspects of Netscape
