Call for testing: filters
First, thanks to everyone who took the time to test SVG events and <textPath>. SVG events have been checked into the branch (and will appear in 1.5), and a number of interesting bugs with <textPath> were found and fixed.
On Tuesday, a subset of SVG filters were checked into the trunk (bug 301234). This subset includes <feGaussianBlur> <feOffset>, <feComponentTransfer>, and <feMerge>. One other current limitation is that the Background and Fill pseudo-inputs aren't currently implemented. Filters that use unimplemented filter elements or pseudo-images will be ignored and the content rendered without a filter. Performance likely won't be impressive, especially with the gaussian blur, but we know what needs to be done to improve that once we're confident in the framework code.
If you could grab a Firefox trunk nightly and test the filter framework and the functionality of the current batch of filters, we'd greatly appreciate it. Please file a bug or comment on this entry if you have encounter bugs. Thanks.

Tor, just a question: is it too late for textPath in Fx 1.5? What about filters? I'm just curious if this testing will possibly be enough QA to get these features into Fx 1.5 (since they are really subsets of features within SVG).

At this point, drivers is resistant to adding more SVG features, such as textPath and filters, to the branch. We still would like people testing these new features for general quality, and in case we do have an opportunity to add them to Firefox 1.5 in the future.

Hi Tim,
I posted a bug for SVGEvents: after zooming in several times, the display becomes distorted. I know the issue is marked as resolved, but will you take that new finding into account for Firefox 1.5?
