Thunderbird 1.5.0.x End-of-life
Sponsored links:
Thunderbird 1.5.0.x will be maintained with security and stability updates until October 18, 2007. There will most likely only be one more release from Gecko 1.8.0.x branch, which is version 1.5.0.14.
Lightning support will most likely to be dropped for Thunderbird 1.5 after Lightning 0.7 is released. The Calendar developers are awaiting feedback over this.

I don't use Thunderbird, but my parents do, and I think they're still on 1.5. Does anyone know if and when Mozilla Co. will push out 2.0 to the automatic update facility? They've used that before (with Firefox), but I don't quite feel comfortable directing them on downloading, uninstalling, reinstalling, setting up a new version of Thunderbird over the phone.

Major update 1.5.0.12 -> 2.0.0.6 was pushed out a few months ago as I recall.
Try going to Help -> Check for updates and see if anything shows up.
