Released on 30 May 07, and this changelog was last updated on 04 Jun 07.
Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5.0.12 has been released. Release notes are available. This post lists the improvements in Thunderbird 1.5.0.12 over 1.5.0.10. This list encompasses almost every single known fix that went into this release. Do check out the known issues as well.
The Gecko 1.8.0.x branch (Thunderbird 1.5.0.x series) will only bring stability and security bug fixes. As such, no new features will be added. To synchronize the version numbering with Firefox, the 1.5.0.11 numbering was dropped in favour of 1.5.0.12.
Impact key for security issues listed on the Mozilla Foundation Security Advisories webpage:
- Critical: Vulnerability can be used to run attacker code and install software, requiring no user interaction beyond normal browsing.
- High: Vulnerability can be used to gather sensitive data from sites in other windows or inject data or code into those sites, requiring no more than normal browsing actions.
- Moderate: Vulnerabilities that would otherwise be High or Critical except they only work in uncommon non-default configurations or require the user to perform complicated and/or unlikely steps.
- Low: Minor security vulnerabilities such as Denial of Service attacks, minor data leaks, or spoofs. (Undetectable spoofs of SSL indicia would have "High" impact because those are generally used to steal sensitive data intended for other sites.)
Changes in 1.5.0.12: (9)
Security issues: (4)
- Fixed: MFSA 2007-12 - Crashes with evidence of memory corruption (rv:1.8.0.12/1.8.1.4) (Moderate)

- Fixed: 332771 - delayed S/Mime verification broken when message opened in separate window

- Fixed: 378958 - Move NSPR pull-tag for 1.8.1.4 and 1.8.0.12

Thunderbird - LDAP not working under Vista. I can't search my database. It freezes upon search. Does anyone have a solution?

Quick hacked-up bugzilla search throws up:
LDAP Search does not work in Windows Vista

being a duplicate of:

It doesn't look like a bug has been fixed that prevents the printing of an address book.

1. Sometimes there are large time lags when Thunderbird does a "summary build" of various folders.
2. Modifying and sending lists is cumbersome including moving addressees to Bcc. I use O.E. to more easily edit adressees by selecting the saved group, right clicking and selecting "action" then "send mail". From here modifications are easy. This feature is not in Thunderbird.

Last time I launched Thunderbird (yesterday, before 1.5.0.12 update), all of the "read" emails in the Inbox of one of my accounts had disappeared, and only the unread ones remain. This is a major problem! Does anyone know anthing about this problem? Any chance of them being retrieved? Other mail folders have not been affected. Would appreciate some help.

Please ignore the previous comment, I had not noticed the view options had been changed. Sorry to waste space on your blog.

Everytime I do something from within an email such as clicking on a link or clicking on show pictures, my whole system freezes up and requires a power off and reboot to start working again. Any ideas as to why ?
Ta,
Rob.

I can't add addressess to my ldap directory. And I can't browse through my ldap contacts either, I can only search them.

The never ending update loop seems to be a "feature" of all Mozilla based programs. Its dragged on for f*****g ever (at least since version 1.5 until 2.0)
Nobody seems to be thinking that this bug keeps people staying with Internet Explorer / Outlook.
