Bug #376418 concerns the future of that localization for Thunderbird 2 onwards and so does not affect the RC. The bugs listed below are still listed as blocking Thunderbird 2, but any moment they may be taken off the blocker list if they are deemed unimportant at this point in time.
Edit: The bugs above do not seem important enough to cause a respin. -Anonymous tipoff

- March 12 - string freeze - l10n begins
- March 24 - code freeze (Except blockers)
- March 26 - functional testing by #calendar-qa, localizers check their work using nightlies
- March 30 - l10n freeze
- April 02 - first RC
- April 08 - release date or second RC, in case RC 1 was not good enough
- April 14 - release date, in case we need an RC 2
Note: Italics denote elapsed events.
Latest as of 1st April 2007:
Matthew Willis goes, "Folks, We're continuing our march towards the 0.5 release. We're a little behind the previously posted schedule, as we've still got some blockers left to resolve. However, we're still in a code and string freeze state, except for the remaining blockers. Any checkins unrelated to those blockers need to be approved by myself or mvl before landing.
Once we have these last few bugs squashed, we'll post an updated schedule for performing fully functional tests (FFTs) and for testing release candidates (RCs). Thank you for your continued patience, support, testing and bug reporting. With your help 0.5 can be our most solid release yet."
He also adds on his blog that he is moving on to Flock development, and will no longer be involved with Calendar all the time anymore.

Licensing Terms
(Last updated 07 Apr 07)
With the impending release of Thunderbird 2, the changelog will inadvertently be linked to from many websites. Here is a gentle reminder regarding the information obtained from each and every post of this blog:
The information is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license, and can be freely shared, copied, distributed, transmitted and remixed provided it is attributed to me, Gary Kwong, or to The Rumbling Edge, and a live link is provided on the attribution for HTML works (Individual posts' links in The Rumbling Edge will suffice; not necessarily the main page).
For example, if the changelog to Thunderbird 2 is to be listed, a live link to the Thunderbird 2 changelog page is to be provided, with a mention of the origin, either the author Gary Kwong or The Rumbling Edge blog. A link to main The Rumbling Edge page is optional.
Similarly, for the case of Thunderbird 2 Beta 2 changelog, in addition to the origin (Gary Kwong or The Rumbling Edge), a live link as shown will do just fine.
The purpose of this is to recognize the works of bloggers and volunteers like me who devote their precious time, hard work and painstaking effort into providing the information free for everyone.
In the meantime, many thanks go out to all the Thunderbird developers (mscott, bienvenu) for helping me compile bug lists week in week out; Tomcat, marcia (and many more) for their invaluable help during Thunderbird Bugdays; mozillaZine (jason, alex) for hosting the site; readers, volunteers, bug-fixers and source hackers out there for emailing me all my errors, submitting bug reports and contributing patches to Bugzilla @ Mozilla.
And finally, to all end-users, if you use Thunderbird and want to contribute to Thunderbird in one way or another, you are most welcome at mozillaZine forums.

Thunderbird 1.5.0.12 Released
Changelog for previous release (Thunderbird 1.5.0.10) | Changelogs for other Thunderbird releases
Make a donation to the upkeep of The Rumbling Edge.
Released on 30 May 07, and this changelog was last updated on 04 Jun 07.
Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5.0.12 has been released. Release notes are available. This post lists the improvements in Thunderbird 1.5.0.12 over 1.5.0.10. This list encompasses almost every single known fix that went into this release. Do check out the known issues as well.
The Gecko 1.8.0.x branch (Thunderbird 1.5.0.x series) will only bring stability and security bug fixes. As such, no new features will be added. To synchronize the version numbering with Firefox, the 1.5.0.11 numbering was dropped in favour of 1.5.0.12.
Impact key for security issues listed on the Mozilla Foundation Security Advisories webpage:
- Critical: Vulnerability can be used to run attacker code and install software, requiring no user interaction beyond normal browsing.
- High: Vulnerability can be used to gather sensitive data from sites in other windows or inject data or code into those sites, requiring no more than normal browsing actions.
- Moderate: Vulnerabilities that would otherwise be High or Critical except they only work in uncommon non-default configurations or require the user to perform complicated and/or unlikely steps.
- Low: Minor security vulnerabilities such as Denial of Service attacks, minor data leaks, or spoofs. (Undetectable spoofs of SSL indicia would have "High" impact because those are generally used to steal sensitive data intended for other sites.)
Changes in 1.5.0.12: (9)
Security issues: (4)
- Fixed: MFSA 2007-12 - Crashes with evidence of memory corruption (rv:1.8.0.12/1.8.1.4) (Moderate)
- Fixed: MFSA 2007-15 - Security Vulnerability in APOP Authentication (Moderate)
- Fixed: 332771 - delayed S/Mime verification broken when message opened in separate window
- Fixed: 369341 - gatherTextUnder is a bad treewalker, making the phishing filter easy to evade
Build configuration: (2)
- Fixed: 377906 - Bump Thunderbird version to 15012pre
- Fixed: 378958 - Move NSPR pull-tag for 1.8.1.4 and 1.8.0.12
UI improvements: (1)
- Fixed: 374039 - Some dates not displayed when LC_TIME=hi_IN.UTF-8
