Another call for Firefox/Thunderbird Vista testers

We have a number of bugs related to Windows Vista that we will be landing over the next several weeks. This bug tracks the progress of many of those bugs.

We like to build up an array of folks interested in testing on the Vista landscape. If you are interested, please email marcia@mozilla.org. I will be creating a Vista testers alias that we can use to inform folks when we need help testing.

As always, thank you for you help in testing Firefox and Thunderbird!

I downloaded Firefox 2.0 in Vista and it set itself as the default browser, then I went in to make IE 7 the default browser, but Firefox didn't recognize that it still thinks it's my default browser, so now both IE 7 and Firefox are set as default browsers on my computer but obviously only one is and that is IE 7, this doesn't seem right to me??????
Any suggestions?

I tested Vista Beta, and just bought Vista, I had some firefox issues but set IE7 to default and Firefox worked, not as great as before but it worked, sometimes the page giggles but then stablizes. I hope you get Firefox working as I don't like nor use IE&, except in extreme cases wherein I have to download updates. As for Thunderbird it is working perfectly as near as I can tell. Hope this info is helpful.

I have just completed the Install of Vista Business. I run both Thunderbird and Firefox. If you leave IE7 as the default Internet browser both Firefox and Thunderbird will not sqawk each time about wanting to be the default. It really is a pain. I also noted that the Tab Effects 1.1 does not work under Vista, though that may be an issue for the Tab Effects author.

I'm using the Thunderbird Beta for Vista and I'm trying to use my Hotmail account with it but I'm having no luck. Anyone know how to fix this?? Please email me back if you do.

I'm glad to see that Firefox and Thunderbird are having all these problem. Microsoft should make it were your forced to use IE7 even if you don't want to over other web browsers. Keep up the good work Bill Gates.

For changing the default programs for email in Vista

go to control panel
programs
default program
set program access and set defaults

If you've installed it, Mozilla Thunderbird should be listed
Click on it and set it as the default program.

I have just bought a Vista loaded Mesh desktop Pc. I cannot make most of my programs or hardware, in particular my HP 2355 all in one printer/scanner, work nor can I get any drivers for Pipex, my ISP who just say tough you will have to wait until the drivers are developed. Apparently they were supprised by the launch of Vista. Firefox does not work I have tried all the various versions that are supposed to be compatable.
Are there any solutions yet or do I have to put up with this situation?
I would willingly be a tester if it meant that something will work.
Regards
Mick Clements

I am using Vista home premium and every time I open Thunderbird it asks if I want to set it as my default program. I have done this over and over (also have gone to control panel and set it as default)and still cannot fix the problem. Any suggestions??

When I open Firefox in Vista 64 bit the screen giggles.

Intel quad CPU's
EVGA 680i MB
EVGA 8800 GTX
4GB DDR2 800

For the guy who has the screen giggles - You have an empty bookmark bar showing. Either add links to the bookmark bar on right click the toolbar and hide it. =)

Mine does, also. I have checked that I want it as the default but it continues to ask me every time I launch the program.

Ive been using thunderbird for sending most of my stuff but i have one thing. In vista i go into my pictures folder and click on a pic, then i click on the "e-mail" button to send it and nothing happens. I had outlook 2003 and i removed it because it opened when i clicked the "e-mail" button. And now nothing happens when i click it. How do i set thunderbird to open up automatically when i try to send a pic right from my folder???

=\
