Litmus update
The machine that litmus.mozilla.org runs on experienced a hardware failure over the weekend, and we are still working on getting Litmus up to full speed.
Currently, Litmus is running on a new server, but only working with basic functionality. You are able to access the homepage, and use "View Tests" to look at the testcase lists and individual tests. The normal "run tests" interface, from which you can submit results, is not currently functioning.
We will update you as soon as Litmus is back to full functionality. As always, we look forward to our testing community joining our Bug Days and Community Test Days.

BonEcho 2.0 RC1 prerelease Community Test Day
It's that time again! This Friday, September 22, 2006, from 7am - 5pm PDT Mozilla QA will be hosting a community test day. We'll be concentrating on RSS feeds, tabbed browsing, and session restore features found in Firefox 2, but testers can feel free to work on verifying fixed bugs, explore the Litmus test suites or browse their favorite sites.
The full details of how to get started, get the correct build and get testing can be found at the Mozilla QA Community BonEcho 2.0 RC1 prerelease Test Day Wiki.

Firefox and Thunderbird 1.5.0.7 rc6 available
Looking towards a Thursday September 14th release for Firefox and Thunderbird 1.5.0.7, QA would like to invite anyone who has some time for testing to help out.
The latest builds are available here:
The joint test plan for Firefox/Thunderbird is here: We are mostly concentrating on secure browsing and mail reading. Possible testing areas include:- SSL certificates and websites (try going to "secure" websites to make sure everything works as expected. One site that can point you to a few more is https://www.verisign.com/, just check the customers link).
- Financial sites
- any banking site - try testing any online bank site that you use, ensure that it works correctly
- any shopping site - go to your favorite online shopping site and log in to your account. Try adding things to your online cart, checking out, etc.
- This may also effect secure gmail accounts. Try using https://gmail.google.com and see if it works correctly
- Any other online mail accounts (yahoo, etc)
- Financial sites
- Websites with fancy table layouts or other unique structure. Do a Google search for layout testing and you might be able to find some test suites to run to make sure Firefox renders pages properly. You can also compare websites in Firefox to what they look like in IE, Opera, or Safari (99% of the time they should all look pretty much the same).
- Specific sites of interest. If you have accounts on any of these sites please use them to ensure that they layout/functionality is correct
- myspace.com
- flickr.com
- del.icio.us
- any ajax-style site
- Specific sites of interest. If you have accounts on any of these sites please use them to ensure that they layout/functionality is correct
- We have made a change to how Java is run on the Mac. If you are using a Mac browse any sites with Java or Java applets. Ensure that they load and work correctly
- There have been a couple of tweaks that may effect eBay. If you have an eBay account login, place bids, check-out or do any other day-to-day activities
- For Thunderbird, try using certificates to sign secure email. Ensure that the mail is received correctly and is readable.
- And, of course, any other daily mail reading and web browsing would be helpful
