Firefox 2.0b1 Community Test Day - Feature of the week!
In anticipation of the upcoming Firefox 2.0b1 release, we want to have this month's community test day focus on some of the new features/functionality in Firefox 2.0.
The plan for this Friday is to look at the Extension/Theme Manager (now called Add ons in the Bon Echo UI).
Test Day Details
Date: Friday, June 23rd
Time: 10:00 AM PDT - 5 PM PDT
Information about Community Test Day
Jay or I will post specific instructions on what we will test to the Community Test Day Wiki shortly. The plan we are currently considering is to have interested testers create Firefox 1.5 profiles with extensions that work/don't work in 2.0 and then test the upgrade path to the latest Bon Echo nightly.
Robert Strong has done a lot of good work on this area, and it would be great if our community can help us flesh out any problems early in the game. Look forward to seeing all of you in the test channel on Friday!

I just downloaded FireFox (which I keep wanting to call FoxFire), switching from Safari (I'm on a Mac), and love the speed of this program. BUT I'm having trouble in Yahoo games: Specifically, failure to properly load the games room, connect to the games server, inability to type into the room, room freezes, etc. Is there a work around? Is this a common problem? I NEED TO PLAY CANASTA! Help!

Carole, your comment doesn't belong here: Per the test plan, they are looking at the particular issue of migrating extensions from 1.5 to 2.0 beta/nightlies.
Where you question DOES belong is in the 'firefox support' forum of mozillazine:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38.
You should certainly start by at least announcing whether you downloaded 1.5.0.4, or a 2.0 'nightly', or a 3.0 'nightly'. If no one else jumps in on your 'support' Thread before Sunday, then I will try to reproduce your difficulties by becoming a 'Yahoo Gamer' myself, and I'll post my experience within your discussion.
I run 2.0 "nightly test" versions of Firefox, only on Linux, so my configuration may/may not be even remotely similar to yours. Still, I promise to follow up if you join the mozillazine forums. Please post your thread with the subject "Yahoo Games?", so that I may easily find it.
Sincerely yours,
