some stats

I thought you all might be interested in some Bugzilla statistics.

Bug 300,000 was just filed (and fixed) today.

Bugzilla has 207,661 total accounts, but only 88,716 accounts with any activity.

33,583 of those Bugzilla accounts have some Bugzilla activity in the last year.

23,078 Bugzilla users have reported a bug in the last year.

11,483 Bugzilla users have reported a bug in the last 6 months.

1,877 Bugzilla users have reported a bug in the last month.

How many have been especially useful coding-wise and posted patches during the last year? Bug reports are good, but with the number of users we have we're overflowing with them and need fixers more than reporters.

Correct me please if I'm wrong, but ANY of your security (??) fixes don't close this simple hole!!

window.frames.pocframe.print();

all FFs (up to nightly built for 2005-07-08) crash!! this code was discowered for about 2-3 month ago!!! This should be fixed in 1.0.2 version, but wasn't! 1.1 - is not vulnerable. Could you please fix this in 1.0.X ??

Great going. I seriously doubt ALL your 300k bugs were fixed. Some bugs were filled more than a year ago and are still not fixed. I agree with Nick, developers fix the bugs they want to, not the ones that have to be fixed.

Great number propaganda, Mozilla. Now if you tell me that ALL the 300k bugs filled were fixed, then this is another thing. I could just go on a bug filling spree and take this to 500k by the end of the month, you know?

c0ldfusi0n: Gerv has posted a good entry in his blog about what having 300,000 bugs actually means.

If you have 200k new bugs for the Mozilla suite, why don't you file them? Even if the developers only pick and choose, you'll have a much better chance of getting them fixed if they are actually in the system.

Shame on you if these bugs won't be fixed till 1.1 release:

Bug 271636 - 84-97% CPU Usage after dialup disconnect.

Bug 242207 - History of Firefox is lost frequently without crash.

Bug 252371 - incremental find/search in page does not find/highlight text in textarea/form/text entry boxes

Bug 294050 - Search in history is case-sensitive for non-ascii letters
