good job, but price is still alittle steep, see asa's blog
Posted by aswith at December 10, 2005 6:24 PMCan you confirm Mozilla Store and this one directly benefit to the Mozilla Foundation ?
It may be because the intl store is operated from London, but the default currency is "pounds". It would probably appeal more people if the prices were shown in euro (or both) by default.

Posted by Benoit at December 11, 2005 1:22 AMAnd where is the mug? I broke my dear mug the other day, and was eager to buy a new one.. But there isnt any?
Posted by Ozzy1 at December 11, 2005 2:52 AMHi Marcia,
good news to finally see the Mozilla Store in Europe. I have some observations:
1. The default currency dropdown is not easy to discover. Perhaps you could make it a little bit more "in your face".
2. Shipping costs are only shown after you put something in your shopping cart. I would expect some info about the costs on the "shipping & handling" page.
3. I also would really like to get a coffee mug :-)
When I open a product detail popup, I have to resize it myself. The popup contains JavaScript code to set its dimensions to that of the image and a few pixels more. I, and I bet a lot of other Firefox users, have disabled web pages to dynamically resize windows. It's a preference, it's easily set, and it mostly makes my browsing experience less annoying. You should probably include the dimensions in the call to window.open() instead of having it resize itself.

I’d say the nl-NL locale in my user agent and the .nl in my hostname should also be a hint… And of course, my IP should also map to the Netherlands in a GeoIP database.
Also, afaik there’s only one America.

Posted by Frank Hecker at December 11, 2005 4:02 PMHi Marcia,
I love to hear, that there is now an european/international Mozilla Store. Here are my first observations and suggestions:
1) Shipping prices are too high (€ 15.59 for one t-shirt and one poloshirt (0.6kg) is unbearable)
2) The default currency should be Euro, the British Pound is only used in Great Britain, but the Euro is used in Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City, Andorra, Montenegro, and Kosovo. And there are a lot of countries who want to use the Euro in the next years.

Posted by Thomas at December 11, 2005 5:44 PMI really think the default currency should be €uros. What would you think of the US store in Mexican Pesos??
Posted by Alessandro at December 12, 2005 3:20 AM> Franck Hecker : Thanks, I needed such explicit confirmation.
Posted by Mozinet at December 12, 2005 7:05 AMAnswers to some of the questions posted here:
(1) The default currency option to Euros change has been made.
(2) Mugs are in the works.
(3) Shipping prices to some countries will be high, in some cases there is not much we can do about that. Please let me know the individual countries in question and I will investigate.
Posted by marcia at December 12, 2005 11:37 AMThanks for opening the international store and having decent (but still high) delivery prices.
I'd like to buy a polo, but I'd like more details. From the picture, I can see it is made by Gildan. But they have a wide range of quality levels (http://www.chorly.com/gildan_polo_shirt.htm). Do you know if the firefox polo is the "Ultra Cotton Sport Shirt", or the "Ultra Cotton Pique Knit Sport Shirt" or others?
Posted by Régis at December 17, 2005 5:53 AM2 T-shirts:
Registered Mail (Shipping to SE : 0.6 kg(s)): €13.08
4 T-shirts:
Registered Mail (Shipping to SE : 1.2 kg(s)): €30.31
Hmm, so ordering 2 T-shirts twice is cheaper?
(SE = Sweden)
The shipping prices are high compared to other
European (UK and German) sites I've used.
In fact, it's higher than from some US sites.
I checked two at random:
http://www.thinkgeek.com - 4 T-shirts:
DHL Express Intl: $25.87
http://www.cafepress.com
International 8-10 business days
(from shipping date)
First item: $7.00
Each additional item: $4.00
(e.g. $19.00 for 4 T-shirts)
I don't mean to be whining, just a friendly FYI.
I do appreciate that I can now buy stuff toll-free
(within EU) at least.
