Comments: answers to ask asa

For the Python / XPCOM thing:
This looks interesting - it's even in Mozilla's CVS. Last updated 2002 (but the patch in the bug was touched 2004).

Then again, you probably already know about it.

Asa,
Is there a question we forgot to ask?

If it's not too late to ask (2 questions):

Will Mozilla in the near future hire SVG developers? As far as I can see, IBM's Tim Rowley is the only active developer, which is a shame for such a powerful format.

And will SVG be offered as an XTF-plugin in the near future?

Asa - thanks for all the answers, as always. Cat picture is in bugzilla... why did I not expect that? :)

Foxtrot - he said right at the top not to ask further questions here. Add your question next time he posts asking for questions, otherwise it'll get forgotten. Having said that, I would guess the answer to your first question is "no", and the second question is something you'd be better asking someone that's working on it rather than Asa.

Asa asks:"What do you find lacking in the Firefox products page? It's easy for people to download Firefox there as well as learn about Firefox."

Asa, I'll answer very quickly, as I don't have enough time now. There are several good things on that page, including that finding download is easy, quotes are good, and mentioning 25 million is also good.

However, there are many bad things. For example, do you think that Microsoft's programers gave their browser name according to what they thought was best, or MS put thousnads of dollars in chosing most effective name? Yes, the Internet - not the web is used in Start menu too. And I heard that Apple does the same. So, why don't you use at least those market research results that are 'available' to change wording on getfirefox page and make it much more effective?

This is something obvious. Other than that, whole text is very unreadeable IMO.

If you find this interesting and want me to elaborate more on this send me e-mail (ivanii at seampro dot yu), and I'll answer during week when I have more time.

Foxtrot, see http://www.mozilla.org/projects/svg/. The plan is to have SVG support built-in to Gecko, so no plugin or extension would be required.

Asa, thanks for your thorough answer. Actually, Tiger's father had urinary tract problems and was ordered a diet to controls struvite crystals, just as your cat Ptelomy is on. After reading your comments about digging in the sandbox, I realize that you're probably right that he actually thinks it's fun. He always runs out afterwards and plays with our other cat (a one year old unknown breed that just stood outside Sofie's appartment crying, hungry and with worms in his stomage. We tried hard to find the cat's owner but no one contacted us, so we kept him and he is now known as Gizmo).

Anyway, I think I'll take him to the vet just to be sure. Thanks again.
