Posted by Anonymous Coward at November 3, 2004 1:06 PMMaybe a flaccid campaign, with a point man who couldn't articulate a reason why he should be elected, who on all the issues (to the extent there was any noting of same in the Big Media) was just Bush lite notwithstanding the majority of the electorate (actual, lazy and apathetic) are on our side, and who couldn't motivate the anti-Bush crowd to get out and vote -- maybe those were factors.

He speaks for evangelicals who fervently believe he is a moral man who will save them from abortionists, homosexuals, and Janet Jackson's black boob. If, in the process, he pickpockets their freedoms and their wealth, they feel that is a reasonable price to pay for a ticket to Heaven. (Life's gotta be better there.)
