Comments: Weird problem with FAT drives in Mandrake 10 RC1

Does this mean you can post your full review of Mandrake now?

No, since "If I reboot Linux it's still there. But if I reboot to Windows and look for the file, it's gone! And if I switch back to Linux after that, it's gone there too."

So the file is already gone. :(

Sorry I can't give you an answer but I'll just say that Mandrake is well known for having buggy releases. The is especially true in their last release. Their RC's and beta's are especially buggy as well. So maybe its just a Mandrake "gotcha"? I'm not saying this because I have some other magical perfect distro to convert you to, that's just my experience as someone who has followed Mandrake since they were just Red Hat + KDE 1.0 tacked on.

Mandrake 10 Community version aka "Big Public Beta" just went Gold yesterday. In a few months the real Final version 10 will be out, maybe wait for that version?
