Comments: Anatomy of a scandal

Given that we have 12 people at a minimum who know who made the calls (six reporters and their editors), I find it somewhat surprising that we are not converging on names yet. This, after all, is a story that could blow the top off the White House.
If the continued existence of the admin is in doubt, why be queasy about violating confidentiality of sources?

Drudge has Novak denying the whole story. There are a lot of problems with what Novak says. If Mrs. Wilson wasn't a spy, why is the CIA asking the FBI for an investigation?

Yeah, there are a lot of problems with Novak's latest line. He's being the good soldier, trying to defuse this thing that he started, trying to keep it from blowing up in the face of the President. How in the world could he say that this is no more than Bush bashing?
