Comments: Movies in May

erm... I dunno what X2 is. Elucidate?

However, I have high expectations for Matrix Reloaded, and I don't think I'll be disappointed. Seen the trailer? It rocks.

I agree with Dave, except that I'm not sure how high my expectations actually are. ;-) I'm REALLY looking forward to them but I tend to have minimal expectations (in terms of "I'll like it whether or not it's any good"). I'm purposefully avoiding the novelization and the comic adaptation until after I see X2.

Next up is Hulk, which I think is more likely to match Daredevil than Spiderman.

X2 = x-men 2.

Well, I'd have to agree with Dave. I highly look forward to both. I do, however, think that matrix reloaded will mostly live up to the hype...even if mainly just for the sheer ammount of action and special fx. X2 will be interesting to see if they can keep up the fan base, even though the movies are so vastly different in many cases than the comics. Still, I liked the first, and hope to like the second.

Can't wait till they announce a spiderman sequal though!

Ah, X-Men 2. I actually haven't heard anything about that. A guy I know (that goes to my church and worked on Tron and Stargate) headed up the special effects company that did all of Mistique's (sp?) morphing in X-Men. I wonder if he's working on X-Men 2 at all?

Heh, yeah, I agree with cesar. I'm more looking to the threquel of Lord of the Rings more than Matrix: Reloaded or X2. The original Matrix wasn't that great IMHO.

Verdict: the guy I know who worked on X-men did in fact work on X2. In fact, he just got home from working on it (I think he had to go to California or something like that)

I am also looking forward to both. Maybe it is just me, but depending on the trailer -- X2 looks either incredibly good or incredibly boring.

From what I've seen and read, the bullet-time sequences will be truly amazing - not just a few seconds at a time, but MINUTES long. There is a fight scene with a crowd of Agent Smiths that sounds as if it will beggar the imagination. I can't wait.
