Posted by urban matador at February 1, 2003 11:05 AMHey Dave, sorry this is not about this entry, but click on my name/url ... the guy on that site has the solution for incorporating the advantages of 'layaway browsing' that tabs provide without actually introducing a new interface thingie. Give an option to open all links in a new, automatically minimised browser window. I can't see what tabs could really offer over commandeering the dock for this purpose. It even solves the problem with the names disappearing as the tabs multiply since the dock has perfected that. Use the dock! Please! Tabs suck but the functionality they provide is very important because it accommodates an alternative approach to surfing that manages time streams way more efficiently. Steal that, ditch the rest.
