Comments: Bugs compounding bugs

I don't know if that would help, but how about using firebug instead of Venkman ?

(From Alex: At this point, I'm not quite willing to consider it. Even when Firebug reaches 1.0 final, I don't expect it to support Verbosio. So it has the exact same problem Venkman has: no "core toolkit" support. I could be wrong - a look at the install.rdf for Firebug would be enough - but I doubt it.)

Verbosio development shelved? No, fixing the critical-to-you bug in the core *is* Verbosio development. A heck of a lot cheaper than writing your own platform from scratch.

Aren't you glad XULRunner is open source so you can do more than just wait around for a vendor to fix it?

(From Alex: Hmm. Maybe I've been working with the open source concept for so long that I'm starting to take it for granted. Hehe. But yeah, I am glad.

When I say "shelved", I don't mean a one-day delay for some trivial bug fix, like what I've been doing to editor lately. I mean "I have no idea how long this is going to take me." With the noted exception of Verbosio itself, I've had a pretty good track record, recently anyway, about my time estimates.)
