Comments: A marathon coding session

If you're going to learn perl, I'd suggest setting that Sams book down, backing away slowly, and run to your nearest library and borrow a copy of "Learning Perl". Don't buy it... I don't need your $1.50. I just want to make sure you don't have a bad experience, which other books might induce. Also look at the resources listed in learn.perl.org for more items.

(From Alex: Heh. I sorta know what you're talking about, having written a book myself.

That said, I used this book only to look up references for stuff I hadn't remembered.

As for learning Perl: I figure I don't necessarily need to learn it all the way. An ounce of Perl, a piece of PHP, a lil' MySQL, a dash of bash, etc., and I'm off to the races. I don't need to be an expert in everything - just an expert in a few things, and have general knowledge in others.

Thanks for the OSCON t-shirts.)

Isn't Verbosio similar to Mozile (Mozilla In-Line Editor)?

(From Alex: Oh, no, Verbosio is very, very different. Unfortunately, it's hard to explain, but Verbosio does have a stand-alone complex.)
