More about geographic trivia...

I was horrified at how many state capitals I got wrong when we conducted a geographic trivia session at the Mozilla Foundation offices tonight. Being a native New Englander, I was especially ashamed that I did not know the state capital of New Hampshire. However, I was aware that New Hampshire's state motto is "Live free or die" which is infinitely more dire than Vermont's somewhat tame motto, which is 'Freedom and unity." But that doesn't mean I still don't want to live in the state of Vermont someday....

Someone bit their tongue...

I am beginning to think my blog will be nothing but an endless string of random vignettes...little slices of life that might go otherwise unnoticed...

The other day I went to the Noah's Bagels store in Mountain View to get a sandwich. The person behind the counter asked for my name, and I replied "Marcia." He replied, "I won't even say it." After thinking about it for a minute, I realized that he had done me the courtesy of not uttering the now infamous phrase from the Brady Bunch. That really made my day.

Marcia = Eeyore

It all started rather innocently - a discussion over why benc wears a Winnie the Pooh hat to the mozilla cantinas. I then put benc on the spot - I asked him which character from Winnie the Pooh that I most remind him of. Without even a nanosecond of hesitation, he replied: Eeyore.

To confirm this, I googled for "Winnie the Pooh characters" and found this website - http://www.lavasurfer.com/poohsonality/poohsonality.html
where I promptly took the test to see which Pooh character I was most closely aligned with. The surprising answer? Eeyore.

Strange Coincidence?

okay, so I haven't exactly been putting new entries on a regular basis. But just a few minutes ago Brian Jenkins pinged me on AIM with this website:

http://www.singingpsychic.com/

Only a few hours earlier, I had contemplated changing my occupation on my orkut entry to "Homeless Psychic." Is that coincidence or what? Should I contact the Singing Psychic for guidance?
