Heard this is in a riff today - liked it and found out it was JFK. JFK liked to record his thoughts on a tape recorder and this snippet comes from tapes recorded during his campaign against Richard M. Nixon in 1960:
"The magic of politics is not the panoply of office. The magic of politics is participating on all levels of national life in an affirmative way, of determining, of playing a small role in determining whether freedom will not only endure, whether in Mr. Faulkner's words, freedom will not only endure, but also prevail."
Marcia's Quote of the Day (Yes, this is an original quote by me): "Those who triumph against unheard of odds shall revel in the beauty of their own excalibur."
