Thanks to the lovely, lovely people at Google, I now have a Google Dev Phone :-)) And I'm busy trying to migrate off my Palm Treo 650. Once I've done it, I'll blog about how it's done in case anyone else is following. But in the mean time: is there a directory of free-as-in-freedom apps for Android? The Android Market doesn't seem to expose licensing information, and neither does Cyrket, which seems to be scraped web-based version of the Market.
Of course, you can find apps which are free-as-in-price (in fact, I think I can only see apps which are free-as-in-price, because I've got a Dev Phone), but that's not the same.
I'm not aware of any directory, but there are plenty of projects up on Google code that should be easy to find. ConnectBot and Astrid come to mind.

You can find the app in the market and the code on the mySociety.org codebase.
If you find a directory, let me know, and I'll add it :)
