Free Software Video Streaming

Paul Kim has noted that he is unhappy that Air Mozilla will be using proprietary Flash technology.

If anyone knows of a free software video streaming system with capabilities similar to Mogulus. the one they have chosen, please let us know :-)

Echoing the flumotion recommendation... you can use cortado so that it doesn't matter what programs the user has installed on their system.

Thanks for the suggestions (and thanks Gerv for putting out the call for help!).

There's http://www.videolan.org/vlc for the technology but still without a "television studio" interface, I guess.

You may want to check our service Veodia which is based on the open Standard MPEG-4 / H.264. Plays live or archived on QuickTime, iPods, 3G phones, Apple TV, iPhone, etc!
