Interstitial Buster 0.1

While reading my favourite online comics, I've noticed that those sites have been using interstitial advertisements (comic page redirects to ad page, which after 10 secs or you clicking on a link takes you to the page you wanted to get to originally).

So I whipped up a quick extension (Firefox only atm, my seamonkey trees were building) called Interstitial Buster, which can be gotten here. It currently only busts ads from midaddle.com, which is used on Dilbert and Foxtrot. It adds a statusbar item (iB) which has no use at the moment.

Microsoft: "We don't pay people to fix bugs"

From the news.com story about the Mozilla Bounty Program.

It is nice to see the old Netscape bounty program resurrected. Good way to find new hires too :)

OpenOffice.org Mozilla Plugin

Info how to enable the Mozilla plugin in OpenOffice.org 2.0 builds.

Its a bit slow still in the 1.9.79 build to startup, but it is a good start.

OpenOffice.org 2 Beta can be gotten here.

XForms On The Rise

You know a technology is going to make it when people spend too much effort trying to attack it.

XPath in XUL Overlays

A short proposal of mine for using XPath in XUL Overlays on the Mozilla Wiki.

The idea is to make overlays more flexible as well as more readable. The proposal is a clean separation of the matching part of overlays and the actual content being added, making it easier to read overlaus imho.

Also, are blogs the best way to push wiki entries to the public? Should we make planet.mozilla.org post a summary of wiki additions each week perhaps?
