Mozilla, Firefox Split 6% Marketshare
CNet has an article with Websidestory stats.
Websidestory is a popular web stat program, so it probably represents traffic from medium and smaller sites. According to it, Mozilla and Firefox split 6% evenly. I am guessing that most of the Mozilla marketshare is due to Netscape 7.x.
In Mozilla news, a9, Amazon's search devision, which has several ex-mozilla hackers on staff from Netscape, released a Firefox version of their toolbar. A9's advanced search features rock (search history!), and I like how their toolbar allows you to go forward/back in the search results without having to go back to the result list. And you get a pie/2 discount at amazon.com if you use a9 :)

ESPN uses Websidestory, so it's more than small and medium sites...

Why would you say that? No one I know uses Netscape 7.x. It's much more likely that these are actual Mozilla users. Mozilla is the one being adopted by univerisities and companies, NOT Netscape. In fact I've yet to hear of even one company or university that has widely adopted Netscape 7.x.

A9.com toolbar is nifty idea up to the point when you read the Conditions of use. it's rather standard stuff; If you use our software, you can't sue us but we can sue you. What cought my eye was that the toolbar sends _ALL_ browsed urls (well not https:// urls) to a9.com, which can use them and give them to their affiliates.
It's all cool.. There is no echelon, Right? .. Right?!

Most companies I know who don't use IE uses Netscape 7 :) In fact, even my parents do.
Netscape has always been the most popular Mozilla-based distribution.

I agree with Doron. Most normal people still use Netscape 7.x I know lots of people upgrading from Communicator and Netscape 6 to 7.x. Mozilla is completely unknown. Firefox is considered a completely different program by most people.
