While reading through the presentation I couldn't keep thinking -- man, there are already websites that do hotel, car rental and airline bookings at the same time. This is not a novelty. How long is Expedia.com or Yahoo Travel are running for? Why would I want to do this from my corporate site instead? The answer could be special fares with corporate preffered vendors, available on corporate website only, but this would require a special set of secure services on a separate server. This xml.com article already mentioned this problem. A dedicated integration again.

It's true that webservices make such kind of integrations more acessible (so you don't have to be a megabucks portal to get this functionality on your website) and this is the business IBM is going for, hence the focus of the presentation.

But do we know any industry examples of this kind of webservices use? Amazon provides SOAP interface, but it's not shooting at a top corporate level.
