Once I contacted them, the folks over at meer.net were able to quickly re-enable my email account. Yay! (They blamed the problem on a glitch in the script that checks for inactive accounts.)
Anyways, I'll probably continue to use my gmail account for most Mozilla-related things from now on, checking my meer.net account occasionally.
