Is lack of WebDAV support in Mozilla preventing you from deploying
or using Mozilla at your workplace?
WebDAV isn't 'preventing' at least in cases I know of... but it's a major feature to be used to persuade people to adopt Mozilla.
I mentioned that in detail in the bug. It would be a great benefit to be the only client capable of webDAV on any platform.
And it would be the first extendable (on any platform) implementation of WebDAV. In theory someone could write an extension to display/capture extra metadata on a file in webDAV for example.
Posted by: Robert J. Accettura at July 12, 2004 2:17 PMwebdav will be nice for calendar. webdav is a popular for storing calendar data. Not only for PUT, but also for splitting a file full of events into small files, for better performance. So, webdav would be cool

And perhaps could be used for remote profiles of http? Might be a neat way to remotely host profiles and access them via port 80.
Posted by: Robert Accettura at July 12, 2004 6:43 PMI created http://wiki.mozilla.org/GeckoDev?WebDAV, too.
Posted by: Axel Hecht at July 13, 2004 1:03 AMi would very much like to see webdav support, would help calendar hook up with MS exchange for one. also i think it'd be useful for REST type web services.
Posted by: joel reed at July 13, 2004 6:45 AMI'm another Mozilla driver who would dearly love to see WebDAV support in Mozilla. There is a widely shared misconception that WebDAV is a Microsoft proprietary standard, which is, of course not true. It is terrifically useful to be able to open up a desk top folder and drag and drop folder structures, together with their contents, into it.
Posted by: Craig at July 22, 2004 2:34 PMWebDAV support would be really cool. Our Document Library (cvs-type thing) system can optionally run as a WebDAV server, and if Mozilla could access it, it would help us convince customers that they should use Mozilla.
