Interview on Lightning and OpenOffice.org cooperation
I would like to point you to an interview that Louis Suárez-Potts, chair and secretary of the OpenOffice.org community council, held with Stephan Schaefer, the lead developer from Sun who is leading Sun's efforts on improving Lightning. It gives a good overview on the background and future plans of Sun's involvement.

I really would like to see a new theme for Sunbird.

Just a little thing...you might suggest to the OO.o folks that they spell "Lightning" correctly in the title of the article. It certainly would have passed any spell checker or grammar checker, but definitely not a context parser/lexer. ;)

I think this sounds great! Hopefully this will improve Lightning and Sunbird in term of features, compatibility, and maybe most importantly: GUI.
I think Lightning/Sunbird still need better and more slick interface in order to compete with existing sollutions.
Keep up the good work!

Very encouraging, I hope synching support on mobile devices is improved.

Good news for openoffice.org users. I really agree about importance of GUI improvements and hopeful switching to folder view like in Evolution and Outlook.
Good luck!
