Calendar Weblog

The extension is interesting but completely unusable. I can't create a calendar! I come to the step where you enter a name for the local calendar and select the color, but the Next button does nothing.

Didn't read about this in the release notes and it's a major bug so I'll post about it here.

Maybe I should add that I tried it from Linux (Ubuntu Dapper 6.04) and downloaded the Linux .xpi of course. Here's some output in the JS console:

@David: You might want to repost your issue in Lightning support forum to get better support/help. Please also include information about your OS, Thunderbird version, etc.

I am thrilled that the calendar is finally integrated in Thunderbird. There are a lot of bugs in it right now, but I remember the old days of Netscape testing too. Please hurry so this thing will work better! I need it!

I'm still using Sunbird as my main calendar but I'm having Lightning installed and ready to test.

Looks great. It's about as functional as Sunbird for my use. I've copied over some events into it and it is functioning as expected! Looking forward to future releases!

I tried it, too. But I couldn't create any calendar, just like David. TB 1.5 German on WinXP SP2.

Well, I'll stay with Sunbird some more time...

The release notes say "Localization is not yet supported". Is that why, when I try to create a new event, the date is displayed as yyyy/mm/yyyy (e.g., 2006/03/2006)? If I try to correct the date by using the pulldown or by typing it in, the date field then displays "Invalid Date". Nothing shows in the JS console. I'm using TB 1.5 (en-US) on Japanese WinXP, which normally displays dates as yyyy/mm/dd. Sunbird 0.3a1 works fine.

I forwarded an appointment from another PIM (Outlook) in ics format. TBird sees the appt and Lightning displays the accept appt dialog but when I click on accept, nothing happens.

I dont get it.

What is the difference between this and the TB 1.5 Calendar Extension and Lightning?

Is itthat Lightning will get all future updates?

I'm using it but am keeping my Outlook running. Actually works pretty well and is fairly stable. I imported my calender from Outlook, (.csv) and it was a little strange, made double entries of some but manually corrected - (deleted duplicate). I think the user integrated TB interface could be a bit cleaner and highlight colors for the different events would be nice, (e.g. business personal). I would also like to see the time in AM & PM instead of military when viewing the calender. I hate to say it but the Outlook Today interface is nice and a similair interface integrated with TB would be nice. I hate Outlook don't get me wrong, it's blotted and hangs alot for me.
