Stealth

The default cursor pointer image is getting kind of old. We should change it to a F-117 Stealth plane with sound effects. Clicking could fire the weapons. Busy/Waiting would make the cursor invisible.

That photo was taken yesterday at the Moffet Field Airshow. I'll post more pictures later.

About About

Hmm, seems my recent entry titles have been doubled up. So here's another one: about:about made it into the tree today.

My History is History

So it's been 11 days since I have used this (my main) computer. Mozilla is set by default to only hold things in history for 9 days. So now everything I had in my history is wiped out. I now have to completely rebuild my history in order to get the things I frequently auto-complete to do so again, which is quite annoying considering I'm used to only typing the first 3 characters or so of their URIs. Even more annoying than that, though, is the fact that I have no history for any of my 5 profiles!

Why oh why on earth do we have a date-based history? That basically forces people to use Mozilla every N days in order to have a history, rendering it all but useless for the occasional computer user. And for extreme power users, I wonder how large it can grow to. Would it not make more sense to store the last N things, ignoring the date?

<timeless> caillon: ok, i don't get it, your solution is so obvious, why in the world do we have the ui we have?

Error-reporting Error

I was perusing XULPlanet and came across a few errors in their custom style property list. For one, -moz-background-inline-policy was first implemented in 1.3beta, so the listing of 1.2 is incorrect. For another, the listed definition of -moz-background-origin is completely bogus, since it does not take the background-position property into account.

Alas, the “Contact Us” link in the navigation bar leads to a server response error code 500. Otherwise, I would drop them a line recommending they borrow the more accurate definitions from the CSS3 background module and from Ian's testcases.

Aliased

Yay. I finally got my bug count down under 50 with the new dom.inspector@extensions.bugs alias. I'm watching that account, so I will still continue to receive Inspector bugmail. In fact, I will probably receive more now that I am getting mail on bugs which hewitt used to own and I was not cc'd on.

Don't Let the Sun Go Down

I just saw this disturbing newsgroup posting from someone on the Sun China team. I know that this one person does not necessarily speak on behalf of Sun, but it is frightening nonetheless.

document.all has been rejected for inclusion into Mozilla proper in the past, and I expect it to do so again should this resurface under the Sun banner. But the implications of Sun working on this are far more scary than Joe Random Hacker.
