The proportions aren't so bad, but 700 a week? Wow.
Posted by: Jason Barnabe on October 23, 2004 7:12 PMIt used to be a good bit more, but I've been removing myself from the more spammy bugs for months now.
Posted by: Boris on October 23, 2004 7:20 PMYeah, I was rather pleasantly surprised.
The bad news is that over half of those 170 "junk" mails are due to bugs in Bugzilla (all filed of course).
Posted by: Boris on October 24, 2004 11:24 AMRoughly how many of the "junk" emails were dup notifications? I'm curious whether Layout gets more dups (as a result of unknowledgeable bug filers) or fewer dups (because there are fewer people who believe they are knowledgeable enough to file bugs, as compared to any of the more user-centric components).
Posted by: Jeff Walden on October 24, 2004 11:59 AMI counted dup notifications in the "bug-fix related" category. So none of the junk mails are dup notifications. If I were to redo this, I think I would indeed classify dup notifications as junk. I think I got on the order of 50-100 dup notifications this last week, but that's just my memory, which could be wrong.
