Software Update Progress
Darin, Benjamin and I are making good progress on Software Update for Firefox 1.1. Darin and Benjamin have been looking at patch downloading and application and I have been working on the Update Manager and notification UI. I've just landed some of the manager/UI work on the trunk (Darin's incremental download utility has been in for a little while). Here's a screenshot of a preliminary notification UI:

This is built out of the Software Update User Interface wiki page.

Deer Park Alpha 1
Web and Extension developers should download Deer Park alpha1 today if they want to check out the latest advances that have been made with Mozilla platform technologies in the past year. Check out the release notes (linked above) for information about what's new. Included are new web developer features such as SVG, canvas, etc and many improvements for Extension authoring.

Thumbnail Session History
Using Robert's offscreen rendering patches, I was able to put together a demo for XTech2005. Unfortunately the internet connectivity at the conference was not working well enough for me to be able to actually run the demo live, but here's a screenshot - a thumbnail session history above the browser that provides a visual representation of what's in the back/forward button menus. This idea is based on Bret Lider's Backslider concept.
