firefox on andrioid

Today's Firefox beta for Android release is really good. It's still beta, but man I'm lovin' it. If you have an Android device, you should absolutely download Firefox and give it a try. If you have a recent Firefox 4 build, you have built-in sync for both and so it's a breeze to share your Awesomebar and your passwords (and even tabs) between your desktop/laptop and your Android phone. 32 MB internal storage?? No thanks, I'd have to install something like 10 apps to fit it on my HTC Desire.
I'd much rather have an Android version of Firefox Home.

@mscha: Firefox Home sounds all well and good, but it still needs a lot of work.

At the moment, by design, it's only a way to view the pages you have open on your desktop pc's. It doesn't support tabs/windows, and the UI eats up way too much screen real estate than a mobile browser should.

I wonder what happened to the concept mobile browser UI that put the browser controls off screen until you brought them up with a swipe?

I wonder how hard it would be to give Firefox Home all the features (sans extensions) Firefox Mobile has. I'm sure iPhone/Blackberry users would be happy with it.

Looks good, glad to see my favourite browser Firefox come to Android! Unfortunately I don't have enough space on my phone to install it though, seems rather a lot larger than any of my other applications and there aren't enough I'm willing to uninstall to clear enough space to use this. Not sure if my phone has a particularly low amount of memory or something or if this will be a common problem, but not had this issue with other apps?

Will stick to Opera Mini for now. Unless it's got some kind of compression system I don't think it will be able to compete with Opera's speed and lower bandwidth consumption for me anyway.

Do you think the storage space/ memory it uses will be possible to lower in the future?

Forgot to add that if it becomes actually installable then the awesomebar & password sharing could become a killer feature for me in the future though! That is pretty darn cool.

Hope it gets up to speed like FF4 on the desktop. My phone does not run on 2 GHz though so the approach should be different.

Hi Asa, so exited to finally install this on my HTC desire, but all I get is a black screen and a crash. And you know I am a big fan of Firefox, so this was suprising to me. Hope this will be ironed out in the next installer package(s)
