get your hack on

I spent an hour or two last week re-implementing the Mozilla "hack" artwork. The original art appeared on t-shirts and stickers. Now you can have it on your desktop.

The artwork was originally implemented by BLK/MRKT, Shepard Fairey's previous design firm. The red t-rex, the star, and the "revolution" font make for a compelling call to action and communicate as effectively as I can imagine our shared responsibility as put forth in the Mozilla Manifesto

I've tried to cover the most popular desktop sizes, and a range of 4:3 and 16:9 sizes should be scalable to whatever you're using. But, if I've missed a scale you really want, please let me know.

Hi Asa,

Can you also provide it in SVG so people can size it the way they want? I have this to get you started: http://www.codedread.com/clipart/mozilla.svg

Thanks,
Jeff

Jamey Boje also made a wallpaper based on this Mozilla hack image. I don't remember where he posted it, though. Ask him.

Great. Upload it to communitystore.mozilla.org, please?

Asa these are awesome.

Jeff I dig what you are saying and I love SVG, but if someone really wishes to have a larger (or smaller) wallpaper than 1920x1200, they can create a new document in their graphics program, specify the dimensions, give it a black background color and then just paste the 1920x1200 (or other) wallpaper as a new layer. That also allows for changing the orientation of the logo and text. Alternatively, the logo and text could be cut out and made to be two separate layers and pasted where ever.

Ahem. Been available for years, Asa. http://burntelectrons.org/media/moz-posters/

I'd have offered posters and shirts years ago too, but after 3 years trying to get TM perms, I was told mozilla never sells products with the dino head. So I assume I'm hallucinating when I see http://store.mozilla.org/product.php?code=14%2013113&catid=9

@ Grey Hodge
I don't understand your point. Asa's graphics are available as wallpapers and the star alone is about 1052x1073. The comparable graphic that you pointed to (hack-poster2.png) shows the star at 865x822 and the Dino is on the outside of it. What am I missing?

Thanks, Asa! My Desktop is sporting one of these now, and I like it :)
