Yes. Congratulations from me, too. I really enjoyed the fresh wind, it gave to the whole browser perspective. New design Ideas in the Tech, as in the UI were highly welcomed in my humblest of opinions.
More competition in the browser market and especially since this one is open source, too, only means more ways to learn from each other and evolve the web.

Good times for all of us.

Yes, this sudden beta-removal is all very un-Googlish. In fact I think the product is not yet 1.0 quality. For instance, it lacks form auto-filling.

Border-radius is still buggy (not anti aliased, shows a black background in Zimbra...), but I guess they don't really care since it's not widespread. They probably didn't want to take the risk to update/tweak the Webkit version and introduce new problems.
