It looks like the folks at Google turned on the automatic (silent) update for Chrome beta users today. They should have all of their users on the latest version in just a few days. With 1.0 finally shipping and such a quick upgrade cycle, Chrome 1.0 should break 1% market share by the end of the month.

Orrin, you were among a small minority then. The bulk of Chrome users didn't start getting updates until Monday.

Except those behind a proxy. Their automatic update relies on Windows Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS), on which my company IT department keeps a tight leash.
Don't do the same mistake with Firefox!
