firefox 3 to be released on june 17th
Yep, we've nailed down the last of the remaining launch issues and we're excited to announce that the worldwide launch of Firefox 3 (in more than 45 languages) will be happening next Tuesday, June 17th.

So I pledge to download Firefox on Download Day, and then you guys pick the ONE day this month when Internet access will be difficult for me! Can you move it to either the 16th or the 18th? ;)

anon1 mous, we did an RC3 for the Mac today. Our community and our QA team will be testing around that fix very heavily over the next few days. That shouldn't impact our ability to ship on Tuesday.

How time flies by...
I'm in awe, every time I think about it.
I can clearly remember starting with Firefox Version 0.48 (it was, when I remember correctly), as it was yesterday.
Wow. Now 3.0 is ready to go. Three-point-Zero, people.
This is more then HUGE. You made leaps in that time, that changed the web and the usage of the web in that time. You made open source a mainstream talked about thing, that will imho change humanity to something better in the end.
I know it sounds huge, but the thought of something created by a community, without the thought of money, just to create something better is now understood by many many people. The success of this project even managed to get that idea into the corporate heads of many big company's.
I congratulate every Firefox coder, extension developer, tester and community helper out there for their tireless efforts and wish all of you all the best, for the future things to come.
