new flash player with h.264
Cool.
New H.264/HE-AAC options
Flash Player 9 Update 3 (9.0.115.0) includes H.264 video and High Efficiency AAC (HE-AAC) audio codec support that opens up a broad ecosystem and selection of standards-based video — up to HD quality — that developers can leverage in their applications. Supporting a subset of MPEG-4 Part 12 (container) and Part 14 (H.264), including baseline, main and high profiles, Flash Player can play back existing MP4, M4A, MOV, MP4V, 3GP and 3G2 content.

Damn. I hope my favorite porn site will start using this soon for their nude cam shows. Yes, they're already using Flash, but they often have around 100+ people, so it's taxing to the Russian cam girls' connections. H.264 would clearly give the potential for higher frame rates. I think porn is an important industry for early adoption and stress testing.
This message was brought to you only with half my tongue in cheek. ;-)

And, after all these years, *still* no 64-bit version for any platform (mind you, the same might be said about Firefox too, at least as far as binary downloads from the official site are concerned...). At least they made an effort to simultaneously release the Flash 9 Player update on Windows, Mac and Linux this time, but it's still a resource hog and basically justifies the existence of the Flashblock Firefox extension :-)
