microformats? what are those?

Alex Faaborg had a great series of blog posts this last week, starting with an Introduction to Microformats, followed by Structured Data Chaos, then The Fundamental Types and concluding with the announcement of Mozilla Lab's latest release, Operator, a microformat detection extension for Firefox.

Actually I didn't finish some of the design work I was working on in time, so expect parts 4 and 5 of the microformat series to come out on my blog sometime next week.

There is also Tails, although this extension seems to expand on the functionality quite a bit. I will have to test it out...

Such "microformats" are mental masturbation.
Instead of agreeing worldwide on basic common set of XML tagnames, now few ambitious perverts reinvent a wheel and try to make HTML into a thing that XML was meant for.
Well open your eyes pervs and make something useful with your hands, like work or sumtin'..
