firefox crop circle hits google maps

It's been in Google Earth for about a week now but today the Firefox crop circle is finally available on Google Maps.

If you didn't see it when it happened, check out the great video coverage over at the video blog.

Looks fun? Then head over to Spread Firefox and team up with volunteers all over the world for the next fun event.

Hmm, I wonder if it'll show up on Virtual Earth? :)

I really like the "FX" formed by participants' cars and an airplane. Bravo all around!

Cool that the satellite happened to take the photo just as the cars were parked there :)

Or are they still there? ;)

Funny, if you scale down you see that there is a rectangle with slightly different colors, obviously newer data. The Firefox crop circle is exactly in the middle of it. It seems that Google really updated this just for you...

Yeah, that was my thinking too when I zoomed out. Seems they chose photos from the timeframe when the cars were parked there too. (And is it possible that the aliens themselves are standing to the right of the cars?)
