speaking of "saved"

There were a couple of commenters who objected to my use of the word "saved" and its religious connotations in my earlier post about World Firefox Day.

This link is just for you ;-)

reactions, thoughts, comments, etc.

relax guy. if your browser is all messed up to the point where you cant check your email, do your banking and day to day stuff and you're a regular person who has *no idea* how to fix these things it can be a big deal. Ive seen people so frusturated because their computer is full of spyware and crap they want to throw them out the window.

Actually, I care more about Firefox than I do about Christ.

Thats right. Religion is so overrated.
Historical nonsense for the weak minded!

While a browser is something real, you can code :-)

Religious connotations WTF? Pretty sad when individuals take offense at some innocent use of language. *resisting urge to launch into lengthy rant*

http://instlux.sourceforge.net/ - install linux from windows. Future goals include being able to migrate data from your windows install to the linux install. Posted here because I can't be bothered finding your linux on the desktop fla^Warticles.

You should name these commenters, so we can mock them for being idiots.

Hey Guy - 'illigitimus nili carburundum' - latin for 'don't let the bastards wear you down'.
From my now 6 year removed/retired - to Montreal - perspective - from 40 years engineering work in the Chicago area, I, along with 85 % of all Canadians can only suggest - "have you yanks collectively lost your minds". You've put a self entitled jackass in the white house - advised by 'Darth' Cheney - stroked by 535 'whores' and you take seriously 'the rapture' and all the other mind screwing BS? and then have the 'amazing grace' to ridicule muslims for their '70 virgins'!!!?
Let it go Asa - your time is worth more than to validate *%$#!$#! The whole cognitive world is dumfounded by what's happening in the 'land of the free' - HAH!!!

Love you people - to death - Regards - Jim Carruthers

PS - If I could be overjoyed in this life by ONE LAST THING - it would be to hear that Mozilla is going to use all that good will, fat-funding, and its world-wide hacker talent pool, to put out a new OS - A 'keep it simple stupid' distro - for 'regular people' - of - wait for it! - LINUX (or ???). Damn-it, Do-it!!! Mitchell's obviously looking for a 'mission' for ya'all!! Do for this f'd up world what you've done with Fx - PLEASE - PLEASE - PLEASE

...and I think we should change the term life-saver to swimmer-rescuer...and life-savings (for which one scrimps and saves) to money-collection (for which one culls and collects).

Sorry, but I seem to recall the (Protestant) values with which I was reared stressed actions and intentions much more than wording. (Of course my folks were part of those wacky, flexible Methodists concerned with things like social responsibility and such, unlike one certain famous contemporary American Methodist who shall remain nameless.)

I can't decide if this is an interesting topic or a waste of my brainwidth.

Oh, and Jim...

Sorry.

I agree, i'm suprised theres more people who feel the same way.. i guess not everybody is a mindless drone.

As far as malware infections, I'm a big supporter of the idea of using Firefox as a "surfing" browser and then using IE for sites that you know you can trust.

I can trust none. not even microsoft..

I’m moving completely away from all things Mozilla because of that comment Asa!
Nah… I’m joking.
I’m a devout Christian, not perfect but I am one.
I found the wording to be really refreshing.
We have to always be on our best behavior when it comes to the mention of the competition no matter who the competition is.
I’d love to speak out against IE and I may soon.
The comment about it’s just a browser, no, it is a way of life for millions.
You seem to underestimate the market value of the Internet and the impact that it has on everyone’s life whether they realize it or not.
Just checkout stocks and revenue for Google.
I don’t know about you, but I’ll never make that much.
Jesus
Family
Firefox
In that order.
Asa said nothing wrong.
P.S. We do have freedom of speech in the U.S.

Relax all, if anyone of you watched Popeye you will learn the meaning of saved.

Which means not being shredded by Pluto (a.k.a Spyware).
