clean launch for discovery
The early word on the Discovery launch is "clean". There's still a lot of images and video that they'll be going through in the next few hours and there will be extensive investigation and evaluation of the shuttle by the astronauts in orbit, but so far so good.

hmmmm, well they've been cleared for return now too, on day 13.....Nasa likes riding odds, also against the advises of knowledgable project managers.....we all hope things go well, but inordinate pressure to send up all the ISS parts before retiring Shuttle is significant....will officially never be admitted.
BTW, when will they hire some german engineers and set that national pride aside and solv this foam/ice risk once and for all?
