happy birthday

Happy birthday, Mozilla. It was on this day, 8 years ago, that Mozilla was born. I've been involved with the project for most of that time and it sure doesn't feel like 8 years. Time flies when you're having fun.

8 years?! wow...

Okay, I'm only an end-user but since (probably) the beginning I've been dabbling with Mozilla. Naturally I've been using Firefox / Phoenix etc. for a while now...
Thanks to all for your hard work - it's greatly appreciated.

(oh - don't stop!!!!!!!)

Happy birthday! I still remember when Mozilla was born. I also remember reading about this little engine the Mozilla insiders were pretty excited about, called Gecko. They decided to bag the old Netscape code base to build from scratch based on Gecko, and I think it's turned out pretty well. :)

Asa,

Eight years ago, now the seventh anniversary. I hope that many more will follow. My congratulations to all people involved!

BTW: the MultiZilla project has its fifth anniversary (on mozdev.org) on April's fools day, which is also quite a remarkable achievement for this project lead ;)

Asa: Thanks for putting up this post. I wish we could have celebrated this more officially here in the office, but as usual there was a lot going on. Looking forward to Mozilla's 9th birthday.
