Those people are crazy. Not only are they cutting into people's hands, that post is non-sensical. How can a computer program make you lose your mind enough to hurt people?
The bigger point stands though -- just because you're wedded to feature X or think widget Y looks super hot... doesn't mean that it necessarily deserves to ship if it doesn't direct support your vision in some way.
The example with the wall, well, that just inspired writing the post -- not the philosophy.
