Reading digg.com poster's comments, it does appear to be true, but it's for the Dell UK business desktops/laptops only (home ones just get IE only), it's Firefox 1.0.7 (though if it continues, I imagine they'll switch to 1.5 at some point) and there's no IE icon on the desktop by default (but there is a Firefox one).
I'd like to see Dell extend this to home PCs as well (and in other countries, particularly the US) and also have a go at pre-installing Open Office.org while they're at it (or at least keep it as a possible defence against Microsoft reprisals w.r.t. the Firefox pre-install).
It's not just for Business PC's. My brother just bought one from PC World (here in the UK) and the Firefox icon was present and correct on the desktop.
It would be nice if it was made the default browser too
I remember news that Dell will ship just Linux PCs cause it cannot get good enough discounts from Microsoft. Of course it was obvious lie, though I think that it was not published on some totally uncredible blog, but rather real (not so credible) news source.
This sounds more realistic though, and according to comments it is even likely. That is great then!
In response to one of the previous posters. DELL computers are not available at PC World stores, or any
other computer retailers. All brand new DELL desktop and laptop PC's are sold direct from DELL itself.
reactions, thoughts, comments, etc.
I assume by the fact that you posted it that it's true?

Just letting you guys know I knew about this for a few months now. It could be different, since I'm in the US.
