Wow, in just one day, Firefox 1.5 has already been downloaded more than 1.5 million times. That smashes our 1.0 first day downloads by half a million.
If you haven't downloaded Firefox 1.5, get it while it's hot!!.
In the coming days we'll be launching some very exciting campaigns over at Spread Firefox, so stay tuned for more information there.
Oh, and don't forget to head over to that friends or relatives house and help them get the latest Firefox release. It's still a tiny download, about the size of an mp3, and easier as ever to install.

I'm wondering what you did there for Mozilla. South Korea really needs a focus since IE still has about 99.9% of marketshare there and people are very "internet litterate". Can you tell us more about this?

Will RC3 autoupdate? It seems a bit redundant in that they are completely identical, right? But it would be nice to have some text descriptions given when downloading updates. These could include stuff like "This is a release candidate build!" since you don't want to include that in the release candidate itself. In this case it could simply say "You are currently running 1.5 final" or whatever.

1.5 RC3 is identical to 1.5 final. Just look at the build date. ;-)

I agree with fyo in wishing that Firefox's auto-update knew enough about version names to say "You're upgrading from Firefox 1.5 Release Candidate 1 to Firefox 1.5 Release Candidate 2" and "The version of Firefox you're using, Firefox 1.5 Release Candidate 3, has been re-labeled as Firefox 1.5." I think it would be possible to do that without preventing shipping the same bits for a release candidate and final release, but it might not be worth the coding and QA effort.

Dude, am I using firefox 1.5? Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 because automatic update says theirs no new updates.

Tray: Looks like you're using Firefox 1.5 (aka RC3). RC3's build ID is 20051111, which matches yours.

What about the localized RC2? Will there be an update avaiable in the next year to go to RC3/Final?

I have a slightly different query on auto-updates - Im on the nightly train (thanks to UpdateChannelSelector extension you had directed us to earlier!) and seem to be continuing to receive updates everyday. Are the nightly train auto-updates Im receiving FF2.0 updates or bug-fixes to 1.5 itself? Correspondingly, does the trunk now contain builds aimed towards FF2.0 (latest-trunk on the ftp-site shows 1.6a1) ?

So, 1.5 Final is equal to 1.5 RC3, correct? As in build 20051111?
One other question: On the Mozilla Wiki there are still some bugs listed as blockers for 1.5 RC2-
Were these never resolved or were they fixed but never closed? It doesn't seem to make sense as to why they're listed as blockers with no resolutions.

Greetings:
I'm glad I am not the only one who has questions!
My build (as of this morning, using the "Nightly" option of "Update Channel Selector"):
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051201 Firefox/1.5 - Build ID: 2005120103
Folks have commented that "20051111" is the final build. So my question are:
- If that is so, why would I have an apparently higher version number?
- Should I download and install the final release of FireFox 1.5, or am I already at the most recent version?
BTW, I changed Update Channel Selector to look for updates in the "Release" channel, and was told there was no update available. I was expeting to get some notification.
In any case, bravo for FireFox. Perhaps it's time for me to start testing the trunk ... nahhh (*laughs*).

Lawrence: You have a branch build built after the code freeze for 1.5. It should theoretically be the same or nearly so, since there have been few checkins on the branch since RC3 was built. You're likely on the "Nightly" channel for branch builds, so once the branch re-opens for 2.0 work you will be getting nightly builds with those fixes.
