Looks cool. Annoying, however, that some extensions only work for the latest release, and others (like this one) only work in the latest nightly. Makes it hard to choose which version of Firefox to use.
Looks suspiciously like Tab Catalog.....been using it since about a month. Hover over the button in status bar and you get a thumbmail screen of all the tabs windows....the more tabs, the smaller the thumbnails....click on the button and the thumbnails stay and you can select the once you wish to hop too....since done away with the tab bar ;>).
Unfortunately I cannot duplicate the conditions, but I just experienced the "back button history magically disappears" right now in rc2. What happened was, I typed "venkman" in the search box (aimed at Google) and then I clicked on Venkman's page link, and the back button stayed grayed out (it should have turned green). I think it may be related to the fact that the "page loading" icon was still "spinning" at the time? I also notice that from time to time the "page loading" icon keeps spinning even though the page is loaded completely (at least, visually it seems that way).
I know this is an unreliable anecdotal report, but I am posting this in hopes that if it's a real bug/condition, then other people may notice it and maybe discover what causes it and make a better bug report than this.
Apologies for posting it here, hope you don't mind.
Asa, did you change the color.. I don't like it it hurts my eyes expecting to see yellow and light green I get this.. black and white and now a new layout.. change it back! change it back, i dont mind the color in black in white but the whole thing>
btw the extension looks sweeeeeeeeet! bring on tab groupin.
This is a missing feature that has been gone for more than 5 years! if you could fix this great but if you can add multiline tooltips for all links even better.. this is and other bugs that's takes decades to get approval could hold mozilla back, if not in 1.5 rc3 or 1.5 why not in a nightly release?
Thanks for checking it out. Actually what we were working on was Viamatic Thumb Tab . This extension adds thumbnails to the tabs and updates them in realtime. I hope you check it out.
Before accusing someone do a little more research. Compare the source code of both the extensions. The source code of Viamatic foXpose is based on Viamatic Thumb Tab, which was released before Thumb Expose was released.
I know you're fond of extensions, but there's a dark side that you may not see much of. Fx with extensions often has huge memory leaks. Talk is all over the Web, and people get mad about it. Here's an example someone posted on the forum: http://www.squarefree.com/burningedge/2005/11/11/2005-11-11-branch-respin/ . A sampling of MozillaZine will also show hundreds or thousands of reports, many even with 1.5RC2.
People often report that the problems are fixed by troubleshooting extensions, but it's hard to get most users to do that. It seems that they prefer complaining loudly, suffering silently, or switching browsers to troubleshooting.
Actually looking at the post date of that topic and of my first alpha release post, it looks like we released about the same time. ;-) They look like some nice extensions! I've made a note to try them out when I get some free time. Also, I need to finish my own extension.
This deffently has potentinal, it has some bugs (like all software) that will get fixed, i mean's its good, just needs time to be to become great hopefully the author takes suggestions.. much potential indeed.
reactions, thoughts, comments, etc.
While I first thought it was going to be like the Konspose thing in Konfab, it looks like simulated MDI tiling, except with zoom.
Does this mean you're taking a liking to MDI and zoom then? :)

Between this post and their page, I still have no idea what the extension does. So I didn't want to take time to download it

correction if the author can keep this preview thing as good as it gets and simulate operas tab function this would be perfect.
